New legislation will require all new and existing PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) drivers to have a minimum of 35 hours additional training over 5 years. Know as the CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) this legislation will ensure that vocational drivers are regularly re-trained and improve safety and customer care standards. Steve Whiteway, Epsom Coaches Group’s Commercial Director commented “ the CPC requirement is very welcome here at Epsom, we have always trained staff to a high level and will continue to do so, in fact vastly exceeding the legal minimum requirement. Our training division will be responsible for ensuring our compliance with the new legislation and have already instigated the necessary adjustments to our training programme to accommodate the new requirements”.
